Are your third-party software vendors secure?
A Tennessee based Community Health Systems is facing a lawsuit over a data breach that affected an estimated 1 million patients. The data breach stemmed from the GoAnywhere file transfer software from third-party vendor Fortra. Another reminder that identifying the right software partners is critical in maintaining secure environments, as 13% of attacks are due to vulnerabilities in third-party softwares.
Takeaway: When was the last time you audited your third-party software integrations and data transfers?
Pay is on the rise…but is productivity?
While median total compensation for PCPs doubled from 2021 to 2022 (outpaced by inflation), and increased for most specialties, productivity didn’t always keep up. The highest increases in wRVUs were in Dermatology, Hematology/Oncology, and Family Medicine (without OB), while cardiology (invasive-interventional), neurology and general surgery experienced pay increases but decreased wRVUs.
Takeaway: Consider redefining productivity – merging the traditional sense of productivity (seeing more patients) and productivity-improvement measures that reward team collaboration
